Passion – What’s yours?
I moved back to Denmark, I go to school 41 hours pr. week (tears), live with my awesome sister and try to devote everyday to the plan that God has for my life, the people around me and my country through love and passion.
There is no such thing as the power of love and the power of passion. Really there isn’t. An example: Jesus in love and passion for us died for our sins, and the power that it brought cannot be compared to any other power this world knows. But before I go start on crazy theology, let me tell you some of the great things that are happening around me. I’m in awe!
I moved to Århus (yeah, try to pronounce that all you English-speakers) without knowing anyone here, not knowing anything but the fact that God wanted me there and I needed to finish my education.
As a missionary I have been used to doing spontaneous things, travelling because God said: “go”, knowing “He has the whole world in his hands ”. I felt comfortable moving from place to place, living by faith, not worrying, seeing miracles and getting to know hundreds of new people every year. Because of that, you probably understand my scepticism about staying in one place for 2 years.
But after moving here God has lavished his favour on me. I started attending a church, and after showing up a few times I was suddenly asked to help sing in a new worship group that is being put together and asked to lead a small group. But the most important things is that I feel so integrated in this church, cared for and respected and on top of that wanted.
The youth in the church meet every Sunday evening for worship, lectures and fellowship and the main thing that has been focused on is PASSION (which also is the name for our youth church). We focus on how to bring our passions to God, aligning them up with his plans for us to reach our city, our country and our generation.
I know my passion is to see people around me devoted and dedicated to their saviour in worship, because of the understanding and awe of who he is.
My passion is to see young people invading the face of the earth with love and servanthood because of the calling Jesus has put on their lives.
My passion is to pour out my life for my brothers and sisters so that they will see Jesus in my morals, ethics and actions.
My passion is to see worship come alive and cause people to move, to act and to love.
Last night we had an amazing event at my church, which helped me dream of ways to put my passions into action. One thing that i got out of it is this: With the passion God has given us He has also given us the responsibility to act.
